I took the tutorial [link] from husseindesign.
this is what i got out of it. it doesn't exactly look flush but its only my second try. im sending it in for a scholarship entry for the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (which i recently got accepted to

On that note i just wanna say that paying for college is gonna suck a lot, but im excited anyhow. later ppl!

But yeah, I think this one looks nicer than your first one simply for the fact that it seems more like an actual color than the last one. It's a pretty nice design. ^^
